Problems with children
today are things such as lack of purpose, and frustration among the poor. |

“The Central Park
jogger,” was a woman who was raped in central park by a gang of East
Harlem teenagers. The woman who had been working her way through Yale Business
School, suffered two skull fractures and serious brain damage.
During the police questioning, one of the youngsters simply claimed
that, “There was nothing better to do”. |

Angry adolescents are known
to share the following traits: |
1. Aggressiveness
2. Immaturity
3. Susceptibility to peer pressure.
4.
Lack of accountability.

It is believed that many of
the problems of juveniles grew out of their value as inexpensive laborers
in the sweatshops and factories over a half a century ago. |
|
When women began entering
the work forces, juveniles were no longer needed for labor and turned to
delinquency and vandalism for excitement. |
|
Although the ethic of the lower class led to violence, theft, and participation in gangs, it turns out that middle and upper class youth were also committing delinquent acts and rejecting their middle/upper class values. |
